Samantha ‘Sami’ Brookes from the small North Welsh town of Rhyl, is The X Factor 2011’s larger than life diva with a cracking pair of lungs on her.

The bubbly brunette smashed her audition with an outstanding performance of Whitney Houston’s One Moment in Time, resulting in a standing ovation from the entire judging panel.

Sami, who has been dubbed ‘Welsh Whitney’, was overjoyed to be put through to Boot Camp and was ecstatic to see after her audition that she looked slimmer on TV than in real life!

The welsh chatterbox went onto to reveal how she really wants to get on that X Factor stage with the bright lights, backing dancers and really “give it some welly”. You go girl!

Sami worked in Clinton Cards before the show feels it is definitely her time to shine and has faith that she “can win this competition”.

The welsh diva continued to impress the judges as she belted out Bruno Mars’s hit Grenade, receiving nothing but big nods from Garry and the gang.

Since her audition Sami divulges how she has been bombarded with support on Twitter and Facebook, and she says she is slowly getting to grips with all this new-fangled technology – aww bless.

After winning her ticket to Judges’ Houses with the rest of the ‘Over 25s’, Sami sung her heart out for Irish music mogul and mentor Louis Walsh and X Factor regular Sinnita.

After a beautiful rendition of Alicia Keys’s smash hit New York, Sami was devastated to learn she had not made Louis’s final four and headed back home to Wales.

However, X Factor wouldn’t be X Factor without a little bit of drama and Sami was called up by Louis himself to replace Goldie Cheung, who had to pull out of the competition.

Sami has since revealed after being sent home that she “was devastated when I thought the little journey, the little dream, had ended”.

Now Sami is back and willing to fight for her place in the competition more than ever. The singer has confessed she suffers with nerves and feels Rock Week will be a big challenge, but she is ready to do Wales proud.

Sami sure has had a tough time getting there, but the Welsh diva is set to really make her mark on the competition. We think Sami’s days of singing down her local are well and truly gone.
