One of our all-time fave British actresses, Sheridan was born in Epworth, Lincolnshire. She trained in dance from a very young age, attending the Joyce Mason School of Dancing in Scunthorpe. She then went on to study the performing arts at college and became a member of the National Youth Music Theatre at the age of 14.
Landing lead roles in theatre productions of Bugsy Malone and Into the Woods, Sheridan then moved on to TV, which is where she first came to prominence. Now something of a British TV veteran, she got her first big TV break in 1999 with the successful comedy series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps opposite Ralf Little.
From 1999 onwards, Sheridan went on to star in some classic bits of British telly, mostly comedies. Over the years you’re sure to have spied her in Gavin & Stacey, The Bill, Lark Rise to Candleford, Jonathan Creek and Benidorm.
And now Sheridan’s come full circle and gone back to treading the boards, with her biggest hit to date the smash hit west end musical Legally Blonde. Sheridan played the lead role for over a year and won an Olivier Award as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance.
