Amanda Holden defends Holly Willoughby against weight loss critics

Amanda Holden jumped to Holly Willoughby's defence after fans were criticising her weight loss

Here at Closer, we just LOVE Queen of Daytime TV Holly Willoughby, but it seems there are some people out there who really have it in for her.

We'd bet they're just jealous and are the kinds of people who just love to criticise for no reason at all.

But unfortunately, people have been slamming poor Hol for seemingly losing a lot of weight recently - despite the fact that she has approximately 823,947 jobs AND three young children. Oh and what gives them the right to have a say?

A source told Now Magazine that Holly was upset by comments made by Loose Women panelist Nadia Sawalha.

Nadia, not realising they were on air, laughed to the other women that Holly was "disappearing" in an awkward exchange that happened in a link between Loose Women and This Morning a couple of weeks ago.

The footage showed Holly looking visibly shocked at what had been said about her.

The source said: "Holly wouldn't dream of making a jibe about someone's body – that's just not the kind of person she is.

"She feels that you can never really know what a person is going through, and it's not like Holly's trying to lose weight."

The source added: "Holly's mentality is if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. She thinks Nadia should take a leaf out of her book and keep her opinions to herself."

But there's one person who's always got Holly's back, and that's fellow TV presenter Amanda Holden, who has hit back at the body shamers in her column for Fabulous magazine.

She wrote: "Holly Willoughby has been relentlessly hounded by the thin-shaming body police.

"It's wrong to criticise someone for being overweight, so why is it OK to have a pop for being 'too skinny'?

"Holly is happy and healthy, and that's all that matters."
