Amanda Holden has always had a good relationship with her Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell - and now she has revealed to the Sunday People that she definitely approves of girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

Admitting that she is delighted Simon has finally found love and become a father in his 50s, Amanda explained:

"I think he would like to have a little girl"

“The pair of them are a good combination. She gives as good as she gets. She is very feisty, funny and bright and has a lot going for her.

"She never stops talking and her and Simon have so much fun."

Amanda added that she thinks Simon would love another child, ideally a little girl, admitting that he is "very sweet" on her daughter Hollie.

“It doesn’t really matter with men and babies, but it’s the right time for Simon, I don’t think he would have been ready before this.

"He is very sweet on my daughter Hollie and I think he would like to have a little girl.

“You can’t plan these things although he might be able to plan that. Who knows with Simon.

“I would say that he is much happier since he has become a Dad and he is more relaxed and seems more content."

She added: "I think he always thought fatherhood would be dull but he realises it is anything but. This happening in a surprising way has been the making of him.

“OK, he doesn’t do all the nappies but who would want to out of choice. I made Chris do some but I don’t think Simon will ever go there.

"That doesn’t make him a bad dad. He will leave it up to Lauren. They both love going out together as well.

"Now he has always got to think of someone else other than himself, which is important in life"

“I couldn’t do without love in my life. I am so happy that Simon has got love in his life now that he has met Lauren and he has his son Eric.

"He is happier and more content than before. Now he has always got to think of someone else other than himself, which is important in life.”

We wonder if Amanda's predictions for a second child will prove to be true?
