Dec told The Sun: “We are looking to do a comedy next year.

“It is something we have been discussing for years. There is stuff down on paper now.”

On Saturday Night Takeaway, Ant and Dec have been airing an episode of ‘Who Shot Simon Cowell?’ each week on the popular ITV show.

"We have been inspired by 'Who Shot Simon Cowell?' and we hope to do a pilot next year and possibly some other pilot ideas too," Dec explained.

The duo’s contract with ITV expires later this year, and the 15 times National Television Awards winners said they have a lot to consider.

“Our three big shows and the shows we love are on ITV, but we are also evaluating and looking at other things,” Dec revealed.

He even went on to explain that they loved doing Saturday Night Takeaway on tour so much that they’re looking into the possibility of another tour, or even something in the West End.

"These days, it is not just ITV, BBC, Netflix, Amazon - it is all kinds of things. We love doing things live."
