Britain’s Got Talent 2016 certainly has got people talking - and we’ve only just started!

In last week’s episode, we watched as 12-year-old Beau Dermott wowed audiences with her rendition of Wicked’s Defying Gravity.

Her impressive vocals left Amanda Holden reaching for the golden buzzer, securing the little girl a place in the live semi-finals.

However her performance has since caused controversy, with some claiming that the child is a ‘cheat’ as she has won talent competitions before.

And, more shockingly, some disgusting trolls also decided to set up a fake Twitter account in Beau’s name.

After watching a stream of tweets go out from the fake account, Amanda Holden decided that she had to take action.

Taking to Twitter, the mum-of-two shared a picture of Beau, clasping a piece of paper with her Twitter handle written on it.

She wrote firmly: “This is the real account of this gorgeous talented girl. Please follow.”

Amanda added scathingly: “The other one is obviously run by nutters!?”

Her message had the desired effect, as it seems as if the fake account has since been removed from the social media platform.

And one of the people reaching out to thank Amanda for defending Beau was the talented child’s aunt.

She wrote: “Nice one Amanda. Lots of love from Beau's Aunty. She's a superstar.”

“Twitter need to put a stop to what some people do, Amanda,” added a concerned viewer.

And one Twitter user added: “Nutters need knocking out! She was absolutely amazing, Amanda - my mrs is also a fan. We hope she wins!”

With Twitter followers now directed to the CORRECT account, Beau has been overwhelmed with messages of support and congratulations.

She responded: “Thanks again for all the fantastic support and messages!”

Meanwhile ITV have responded to those ridiculous ‘cheat’ claims, saying: “Beau had singing lessons once a month for the past four years with StagePro.”

Fair enough, we say - why shouldn’t she have?

Some people have accused Beau of being a cheat for having had training in her chosen talent, but there’s no denying that she IS talented - and she has clearly worked her butt off to get where she is today.

As she said herself, ‘everyone deserves a chance to fly’.

Way to go for pushing that golden buzzer, Amanda!
