Fans of Calum Best have been left shocked following reports that he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
A source told The Sun on Sunday that the alleged victim was ‘hysterical’.
They told the paper: "She was hysterical. She ran out of the hotel. She claims Calum sexually assaulted her. "
The reported incident occurred following a night out in Manchester where Mr Best was partying with Ex on the Beach star Ashley Cain.
The Mirror reported that Cain later tweeted that the story was a case of Best being: "Misunderstood."
Police were called to the hotel and Best was reportedly arrested at the scene "following reports that a 20-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted".
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester police told the newspaper: "Officers arrested a 34-year-old man.
"He has been bailed until November pending further enquiries."
Best has yet to release a statement following the reports.
