Cat Deeley wants to have more children but has been warned against it by her doctors

Cat Deeley is already mum to 18-month-old Milo with fellow TV presenter hubby Patrick Kielty, but she's already set on having more children!

But 40-year-old Cat has been warned against future pregnancies, as she would now be classed as a "geriatric mother".

Doctors have told her that she would now be a "triple-high-risk" due to her age, and her pregnancies would be more likely to develop abnormalities.

Cat told The Mirror: "I would love some more. But I have got to get on with it if I do.

"When you go for your check-ups they call you a 'geriatric mum'. That is the terminology they use, I swear. They say, 'Ma'am, you are triple high risk'."

But it doesn't look like Cat is going to let that get in the way of adding to her brood with Patrick, 46.

She revealed: "I would love some more. But I have got to get on with it if I do."

This may be down to the fact that mothers over the age of 39 are statistically more likely to face problems - as well as their unborn child.

According to the NHS, older mums may find it harder to get pregnant and face a higher risk of complications like maternal health problems such as high blood pressure or gestational diabetes, a higher risk of miscarriage and an increased chance of having a baby with a congenital abnormality, such as Down's syndrome.

Cat also opened up about her relationship with Patrick, saying they were both shocked at their romantic spark as they'd been friends for years.

She described it as "knock-your-socks off" for them both, adding: "There were no more games and it all happened very quickly because we were older and comfortable in our own skin."

As is often the case when a couple have been "friends first", she revealed that their close friends had known it all along: "A lot of our friends knew it would happen before we did, but I honestly had no idea," adding that she "wouldn't have wasted so much time" and was relieved he was still single and that she "hadn't missed him in the process".

N'aww!
