The Channel 5 show Benefits: Too Fat To Work definitely got people talking last night on Twitter - and plenty of the people featured in the show seem to have rubbed a number of social media users up the wrong way.

Including none other than Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley.

Taking to Twitter, the pregnant actress wrote angrily: "Too Fat To Work... this program makes me livid. Are these people for real??

"Oh my God... being Fat is NOT disability.

"If the Government spent more money on the RIGHT nutritional education from an early age they would then have […] better things to spend OUR money on than cars, kebabs, weddings, carers for those claiming to be 'helplessly fat'.

"Crikey, it's not rocket science. P**s takers on BOTH sides I feel."

Catherine, who is due to give birth any day now, finished: "And allowing your child to eat crap everyday is not kindness...it is mindless ABUSE.

"You are KILLING them."

She went on to retweet several messages of support, as well as advice on losing weight through eating more protein from her personal trainer fiancé Thomas Pitfield.

It read: "A high protein breakfast will help you loose weight and gain muscle mass.

"Ditch the bowl and spoon. Salmon and eggs is a favourite of mine!"

While many agreed with Cathrine's no-nonsense attitude, some criticised her for her comments.

One responded: "It doesn't help when junk food is cheaper than healthy food."

Another cattily asked: "I remember reading an interview where you said you were 'fat' at 16. Was this your parents fault then as you were a child?"

The blonde beauty chose to ignore their comments.

Catherine, who is now on maternity leave from Corrie, revealed back in August that she was expecting a baby boy with Thomas.

We bet her little boy will be eating all the right things with his health food loving mum in charge!
