The 35-year-old Celebrity Big Brother star, who has admitted to spending £1 million on plastic surgery, was in £40,000 of debt and living in a £30-a-night hotel when she tried to take her own life.
Model Alicia confessed to Now that she mixed a potentially lethal cocktail of vodka and pills, leaving Papaya, then two, alone.
She said: “I’d left water and food because I was aware she may not be found for a while if I died.”
Fortunately Alicia’s attempt didn’t work, and she claimed she woke to Papaya standing over her, saying the word ‘mama’ for the first time.
Appearing on This Morning earlier this year, Alicia, who counts Simon Cowell and Micky Rourke as her famous exes, broke down about the suicide attempt.
She said: “You mind is a very powerful thing. Everyone has a breaking point and I had reached my breaking point.
“Things were getting worse and worse and worse. I couldn’t see a way out of it. It was all coming on top of me, the debts were getting on top of me, I was getting threats to take me to court, people were phoning me all the time and I couldn’t handle it.”
Alicia emotionally revealed she just wanted to end the pain. She continued: “I felt [my children] would be better off without me. I felt like I had failed and couldn’t provide.”
However just days after the failed attempt, Alicia met a man in bar who helped her get her life back on track. He started supported her financially and paid of her debts, allowing Alicia to rebuild her business.
She added: “My life is starting to get better, I met someone, my business got better.”
