Cheryl Fernandez-Versini barely had a second out of the limelight since reports surfaced that her 18-month marriage to husband Jean-Bernard is in trouble, and now pals reveal the constant pressure on her has left her desperate for some time away from the showbiz world.
Reports claimed the marriage has “serious problems,” with pals said to be fearing the singer had been considering “taking some sort of break” from the relationship.
And insiders say that, after so much drama, pals are concerned that Cheryl – who hasn’t been pictured with JB since October – is not in a positive place.
A source says: “Cheryl’s finding all the attention on her and JB difficult. She’s lying awake at night worrying about the future. She was dreading The X Factor ending as it was a distraction, but now she has to face her situation head-on.
“Cheryl says all she wants to do is flee to Newcastle and ‘hide from the world’ and thinks time alone will heal the heartache of the past year. But her mum and friends have urged her not to run away from her problems.”
