Christine Bleakley taking over Holly Willoughby’s role on This Morning: ‘I can’t believe I’m doing this’

Christine Bleakley admits she's 'extremely nervous' to cover for Holly Willoughby on This Morning when she goes on maternity leave

Christine Bleakley previously filled in for Phillip Schofield when he was unable to present his turn on ITV's This Morning.

And now the TV presenter is set to cover the second half of Holly Willoughby's maternity leave.

Speaking about her return to daytime TV with the Mail Online, Christine said: "I am really looking to working on the show more regularly and love Phil and Holly as they are such a lovely team, including all the staff behind the scenes so it is a great environment to work in.

"I was completely chuffed to be a part of that more regularly."

But Christine, who previously presented breakfast show Daybreak before it was axed due to bad ratings, admitted that she is scared at the prospect of taking over Holly's role.

She said: "I get extremely nervous especially for live filming.

"I have watched the programme for so many years, so for me I was like I can’t believe I am doing this!"

The 35-year-old also quashed rumours that she will be moving to New York with fiancé Frank Lampard, who has been transferred to a US team.

Speaking to the Daily Express, Christine said: "It's all rubbish.

"I've been quoted as saying all manner of things, like I'm handing out CVs in America. Well I'm not. And I'm not moving there either. Home is still very much London."
