Danniella Westbrook has opened up about the rollercoaster she’s been on for the past year.
After appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in January Daniella won the public over, then briefly returned to EastEnders and reunited with her on-screen brothers Grant and Phil Mitchell.
However, after her return to the TV soap things took a turn for the worst; her social media account was hacked and naked photos were uploaded. She then sparked concern when she uploaded a picture from a hospital bed and then accused her boyfriend George and her best friend of having an affair.
Then a few weeks ago the former EastEnders actress was spotted wearing a bandage on her nose which sparked concern on her nose collapsing and now she has opened up about relapsing on This Morning.
In her interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Scofield she admitted after having a few medical procedures – which led to her losing a lot of her gums - she became depressed: "I had all my top teeth out and implants put in on screws. It started to swell and it gave me septicaemia.
"I think the whole lot of it spiralled me into depression, coming out of Celebrity Big Brother should have been my busiest year, got right to the final, the public got behind me.
"I came out of there and I was so excited to get back on my feet and busy and people got to know who I was, which was nice, and this happened and I haven't been able to work all year, which has just spiralled me back down into a depression, which then I split up with my boyfriend."
In September Danniella said on her Instagram account that her then-boyfriend George had cheated on her with her best friend however now she has revealed that the pair parted ways. After George left one day she admitted: "I wasn’t very easy to live with at the time, because I was depressed about the way I looked, not being able to earn money, I felt like I’d let him down and let the kids down… we just parted, which I think really is the best thing I could have done."
And now the mum-of-two has bravely opened up and admitted that she did relapse following her break-up: "I thought my whole world was over when he walked out, because he just got up, it was like he’d never been there.
"I tried to overdose a lot when George walked out, but it just turns out he never had a girlfriend before me, so it all unravels and you know it was very difficult."
But now it seems that things are on the up for Daniella, she’s revealed that she’s going to have a good Christmas and has opened up a business in Liverpool with a friend: "We’ve got some great ventures coming up and a TV show coming up out of it which is good."
