The majority of us were over the moon for Danny Dyer when he won big at the National Television Awards for his role as Mick Carter in BBC One’s EastEnders.
However fans of Alison King - who was nominated in the same category for her role as Carla Connor in ITV’s Coronation Street - were less than pleased.
And, ever since that moment, they have trolled Danny online, attacking the talented soapstar’s acting abilities.
However Danny, being Danny, wasn’t prepared to ignore them over this matter.
Instead, he began calling them out and responding - which, to be honest, has only spurred his trolls on.
However things came to a head yesterday when he called out a user for slamming one of his fans as a ‘mong’.
He wrote: “Calling someone a mong is fine, is it?
“Ok, sweet. I’ll let Ali know.”
Furious that Alison King would be informed about their shoddy behaviour, they accused Danny of trolling THEM!
He replied coolly: “It's called exposing Andy. Not trolling. Your word that you used to a young fan of mine. Happy Saturday sir.”
And, when a few hit back that Ali wouldn’t care about what they’d been up to, Danny had the perfect response.
“Oh dear. Stop pretending you know Ali. Get back to ya homework.
“Concentrate on something other than attention.”
Danny added that he would let the Corrie actress know that she made “the right move to stay away from Twitter”, he’d hate the idea of seeing how embarrassing her fans are.
He finished: “Vote for your idols more. Talk less s**t.
“Now let's all crack on with Saturday.”
Boom!
That was more dramatic than any episode of EastEnders or Corrie, wasn’t it?
We have a feeling Alison King’s fans will think twice about trolling Danny Dyer again in the future…
