The 40-year-old was awarded the title by People magazine this week, and one of the many reasons was his devotion to his wife Victoria, 41, and their four children.
David and Victoria are parents to Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and four-year-old Harper, and the retired footballer insisted nothing would ever come before them.

Revealing his favourite part of the day, David told the publication: “I think when all the kids are washed and bathed and we all sit watching the TV together with a cup of tea and the kids have hot chocolate.”
Discussing a recent family holiday, David admitted the being surrounded by his brood still makes him emotional.
He continued: “The other night we were all sat in front of the fire pit outside and were just chatting together. I actually turned around to the kids and said, ‘Okay, this is Daddy’s favourite part of the holiday so far.
“And last night we were at Disney and I almost cried watching the fireworks. Victoria and I were there with the kids, and Harper sat on my knee and Romeo sat on my other knee and it was incredible. I got a lump in my throat, and they were like, ‘Daddy, are you okay?’”
