Aaron Sidwell aka Steven Beale is set to leave the show following an upcoming storyline

EastEnders fans who have watched Steven Beale manipulate, cheat and lie to Lauren Branning may be happy to hear that Aaron Sidwell who plays the evil character is leaving the show.

We all had an inkling that someone was leaving after some of the EastEnders actors let it slip at one of the cast members leaving parties and now it has been confirmed that it is in fact Steven leaving Albert Square.

Steven returned to the show last year with his girlfriend Lauren Branning and his nephew Louie (who's the son of his half-brother brother Peter). Since his return he has poked holes in his condoms in hopes to get Lauren pregnant, he's currently having a secret affair with his fiancés sister Abi and has lied that he has a brain tumour so that Lauren will marry him.

Talk about crazy…

But there's good news in store for viewers of the show as it's been confirmed by EastEnders bosses that Aaron (who plays the character) is leaving the show. A spokesperson for the show told the Metro: "Aaron Sidwell is part of one of the big upcoming storylines and we can confirm, following dramatic scenes to be aired later this summer, he will be leaving the show.

"We wish Aaron all the very best for the future."

Aaron first joined the show in 2007 but left a year later after his onscreen dad Ian Beale threatened to kill him if he ever returned to the square. However, he later returned in 2016 with Lauren and Louie and Ian quickly forgave Steven and welcome him back into the family home.

It has been confirmed that the 28-year-old actor is swapping his role in Walford to work in the upcoming Tour of Wicked in the UK and Ireland, following his current storyline. A source explained: "Obviously this storyline has caused a lot of controversy.

"Things are coming to a head on screen, but it’s going to be the end of Aaron’s time on the show."

They continued to tell The Sun: "The outcome of the storyline is being kept under wraps.

"He's sworn to secrecy and so is everyone else in the cast and crew."

Eek!

Viewers of the show are aware that Lauren's sister Abi and dad Max are aware of Steven's lies, and recently Max took the lie one step further by telling his daughter Steven only has three months left to live.

As Max is hell-bent on getting revenge on the entire square we're wondering if he'll have something to do with Steven's exit…
