"We’ve been trying for 11 years and now we’re expecting twins!"
Last month Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter announced the incredible news that she is expecting twins with her fiancé Rudi Coleano. The soap star – who plays the feisty Chas Dingle in Emmerdale – told her 238,000 Twitter followers: "We are overwhelmed with your lovely messages and over the moon to be having twins. Thank you all so so much x x"
Lucy and Rudi, who are already parents to 11-year-old Lola, are now eagerly awaiting their twins that are due May 3rd. The 39-year-old actress expressed just how happy they are to OK! magazine: "We're absolutely over the moon. It still hasn't sunk in. It's a buy one, get one free situation!"
Although she did admit she struggled to get pregnant after having her daughter Lola: "We thought if it happens, it happens. But it never did. We just thought I was too stressed out with work or a house renovation."
And even though the couple were never worried about secondary infertility - because she fell pregnant with Lola easily after being together for six months – Lucy, who is now 39, began to question things a few years ago: "I was like, hang on, I’m not getting any younger. Women don’t realise that it’s not just you getting older, it’s your eggs getting older and your egg reserves get less every year.
"There is so much pressure for women to concentrate on their careers before kids, but then they get to 38 onwards and their career is fine, but their body isn’t."

She admitted that the whole process was "extremely hard" and at her age their chances we're looking unlikely: "For my age, the chance of it working was 20%, so we were pumping so much money into it and wanted it so badly, but it was completely out of our control."
However, after their second time trying IVF they managed to fall pregnant with twins: "We’ve been trying for 11 years and now we’re expecting twins!"
Congratulations to the pair!
