Reality star and ex-Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis, whose fiery (and very much over) CBB-based relationship with model Jeremy McConnell had us rooted to our sofas, gave birth to a baby boy last week. It’s been a pregnancy plagued with deleted Twitter spats, harsh words and wild rumours surrounding her and her ex - from him refusing to admit the baby could be his, to her getting into a fight in a carpark - and it doesn’t look to be settling down any time soon.
To recap: Jeremy reportedly cut his holiday in Thailand short to come back and support Steph, as well as finally announcing he’d like a paternity test. He told Star magazine: “I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby. If he is my son, I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him. Any timescale for that is in Steph's hands now. I did reach out to her some weeks ago but didn't hear back.”
So far, so good. Except Jeremy doesn’t seem to be the only guy who thinks the baby could be his. Ex On The Beach star Josh Ritchie just revealed he is a bit concerned he might be the dad.
"I have spoken to Steph. I slept with Steph a year ago," he said on Dan Wootton’s Facebook Live video. "I’m worried - she could turn up on my doorstep with the baby any time soon."
Considering footage of him and Steph fooling around in bed emerged last May, him being the father isn’t out of the question. He also added he’d rather sleep with Vicky Pattison and Jasmin Walia, cementing his bid for Responsible Potential Dad Of The Decade.
You’d think two guys vying for a paternity test was enough, but nope, there’s a third male human who has thrown his hat in the ring. Or, should we say, has had his hat thrown in the ring by Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson: the one and only Scotty T. Or, as he likes to be called, “Turbo D*ck”.
In her recent column, Marnie hinted that Scotty could indeed be the dad of Steph’s baby:
"I’m glad Stephanie Davis has safely given birth – and I can't wait for Jeremy McConnell to take a paternity test…Imagine if he isn't the father!
"I heard that Scotty T might be the dad! I reckon he’s fathered a lot of babies he doesn’t know about…
"He probably has kids in every country. He's definitely not mature enough to be a dad, but he’d probably be slightly better than Jeremy!"
As you can see, this appears to be based on precisely no facts. Thanks for your input, Marnie, but we’ll probably count Scotty T out of what we’re calling The Great Steph Davis Paternity Test Race.
The Race seems to be wearing Steph down a bit - amid all these potential fathers coming out of the woodwork, a friend told Closer: "She can’t believe people are still questioning who the father is" (pick up a copy of Closer for the full story). To be fair, Jeremy has only recently even acknowledged that the baby might be his. But, thankfully, Steph is still finding the time to enjoy her new arrival - posting regular updates on social media.
