Kelsey Grammer's sister Karen was just 18-years-old when she was abducted by Freddie Glenn, now 57, and two accomplices in 1975 as she waited outside for her boyfriend to finish work at a restaurant.
"To give that a blessing would be a betrayal of my sister's life"
The teenager was repeatedly raped over four hours, before Glenn savagely cut her throat and dumped her on the ground.

Now, at a parole hearing almost 30 years later, the killer has told Kelsey Grammer he is sorry for the atrocity he committed in his youth.
Grammer, 59, who appeared via a videolink at the hearing at Limon Correctional Facility in Colorado, graciously - and emotionally - accepted the apology.

But, while he could find it in his heart to forgive the 'butcher' who'd killed his sister, the Frasier star insisted that he could not recommend his release on parole.
"I want to believe you have actually changed your life. Things you say, I accept a lot of it.
"You could not have come to a better person in the world than me to advocate for someone who has made some bad choices."
He heartbreakingly added: “She was a terrific kid. She was a wonderful, wonderful person.
"I miss her all the time and I accept that you live with remorse, but I live with tragedy every day of mine.
"I accept your apology. I forgive you. However, I cannot give your release my endorsement.
"To give that a blessing would be a betrayal of my sister's life."

Glenn was turned down for parole and will not be eligible to apply again until 2017.
