TV presenter Helen Skelton has revealed that giving birth to her second baby Louis was very dramatic - with him being delivered on the kitchen floor
Helen Skelton has admitted that giving birth to her second baby last month was way more dramatic than her first.
The TV presenter, who is married to rugby player Richie Myler, gave birth to baby Louis last month - and ended up delivering on her kitchen floor!
Helen described the moment she realised she was going into labour as "frantic" to Hello! Magazine.
The 33-year-old explained that the family were all "just so relieved he is safely here".
After taking two-year-old Ernie for a walk in the park in their hometown of Perpignan in France, she arrived back home with slight pains in her tummy.
She described the moment: "I'd been out for a walk with Ernie in the pram and when I arrived back home I was getting a few pains. At first I thought it was because I'd been out for a long walk but then I could hardly move."
The mum-of-two then explained that she was expecting the birth of her second baby to be similar to the first one - which took nearly TWO DAYS.
But as the pains began to get worse, she rang her husband Richie who was in the UK at the time for work. But there was hardly enough time for that: "But within an hour of calling Rich, I couldn't get up off the floor."
Richie then immediately rang one of their neighbours, who is a friend of the family, and they immediately ran to Helen's aid and rang the emergency services.
Helen said: "I'm still not really sure why the fire brigade arrived but it seems they were the closest emergency service at the time!"
The Rio Olympics host then hilariously added that although the firefighters were "beside themselves with excitement", they didn't prove to be the best birthing partners: "Bless them, they weren't up to speed with what you do so they were all flapping."
She also revealed that although Richie had not been able to be at the birth due to its rather dramatic timing, he was a rock to her once he did finally arrive: "He looked like he'd done five rounds with Anthony Joshua, he'd been crying so much. He was relieved we were both okay."
Richie added: "I am really proud of her for doing it on her own. I know she must have been scared but she will never admit it!"
