Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughbydo, without a doubt, take their jobs very seriously.

But the hosts of ITV’s This Morning also have a naughty streak.

From turning up to present the show in a VERY tipsy state after their NTAs win, to descending into giggles whenever there’s a live gaffe, the BFFs keep us smiling whenever they can.

However, during a recent show, Phil and Holly confessed that they had broken a pretty major rule.

Eep.

The pair had attended a special function at Buckingham Palace, which was marking the 40th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust.

Phil explained: “Prince Charles threw a little soiree to celebrate the Trust’s 40th anniversary. Holly and I were lucky enough to be invited.

“It was incredible,” Holly added.

But, whilst they were there enjoying all the pomp and splendour of the royal event, Phil and Holly chose to ignore one of the very strict rules in place.

Phillip continued: “If you go to a Buckingham Palace garden party, you are not allowed to take photographs.”

At that moment, the screen cut to a selfie that Phil had taken with his wife Steph and their eldest daughter at the event.

Holly, feigning surprise, intoned sarcastically: “So how did that happen?”

But t wasn’t just Phil who’d broken the rules.

Another (technically) forbidden photo flashed up on screen - this time of Holly and her husband, Dan Baldwin.

Descending into giggles, Holly said: “I can’t believe we’re ‘fessing up to this, we’re never going to be invited back!”

Phil later received a tweet from The Prince’s Trust about the misdemeanour.

It read: “We'll let you off... seeing as it's you Phillip! Thanks for being an important #partofPT.”

The cheeky This Morning host replied: “Phew!”

Thank goodness, eh?

We’d have hated it if the royal family had declared “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!” after seeing just how naughty Holly and Phil had been at their party.
