When Austin Armacost had a go at the 25-year-old for refusing to join in a toast for his dead brother, she insisted she couldn't be around drink because of her problem.
But Imogen Thomas, who shot to fame on Big Brother 7 in 2006, hit out at former X Factor singer Chloe on Twitter, and claimed she was lying.
She fumed: "Omg! I'm sorry but Chloe just shut your mouth! Jeeze! [sic]."
However Chloe's rep was quick to jump to his client's defence, replying: "Imogen horrible thing to say [sic]."
His response, instead of shutting pregnant Imogen up, caused her to elaborate on her point.
She wrote: "What's horrible? About alcoholism? Babes nothing horrible here. Alcoholism is a big thing she wouldn't be allowed in bb!
"So she can't say she is! It's not a joke! So it's very confusing to hear something like that! [sic]."
Refusing to back down, Chloe's rep added: "She's an alcoholic like myself and the producers and psychologist new about it! Imogen about 15 alcoholics have been in CBB before lol [sic]."
Clearly tired of the argument, Imogen simply responded: "Okey dokey," and added a laughing emoji.
Another former Celebrity Big Brother star who wasn't fully convinced by Chloe's sudden confession was Amy Childs. She told Closer Online: "I thought it was a bit of a game plan.
“Chloe and Austin have got the same management, so something tells me it could definitely have been a set up. As someone who’s been the house before, I have to say they wouldn’t let a recovering alcoholic in there.
“You get tested for everything: drugs, alcohol – absolutely everything. If you don’t pass those tests, you’re not allowed in."
Chloe’s behaviour in the house confused a lot of people – some were quick to point out that she would change her mind on whether or not she could be around alcohol.
Model Nicola McLean, who has also been the house before, admitted she thought Chloe wasn’t telling the truth.
She told Reveal: “I know a great deal about alcoholism and Alcoholics Anonymous, and her behaviour seems strange to me.
“That’s not to say she isn’t going through something difficult, of course, but when others aren’t, I feel you have to respect the fact they won’t understand her picking and choosing when it suits her be around opened alcohol or not.”
