While Cheryl is yet to confirm her pregnancy, one person who appears to be happy that she's starting a family is her ex-husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
The couple divorced in October, and now JB has spoken publicly for the first time about the former X Factor judge's new life with boyfriend Liam Payne.
According to JB, he found out Cheryl's happy news in the press.
"It's a great thing to have babies," JB, 35, told ES magazine. "There are so many sad things these days, if everyone was creating life, the world would be a better place."
Cheryl, 33, who has been dating former One Direction star Liam, 23, for around a year, is thought to be due sometime early next year.
But French businessman JB says his failed marriage to the Geordie star won't put him off looking for love in the future.
"You cannot approach it differently when you fall in love," he explained.
"If you can give me tips for me to structure my heart in order not to fall in love the same way, please explain to me but I don't think it's possible.
"If it happens, it happens. My life has never been about looking for something. It comes to me."
"I'm old-fashioned. If I'm meant to meet the person, I will. If not, I will go home."
JB also opened up about the recent death of his father, admitting he is keen to start his own family following the loss.
"As much as people expect you to be able to handle it at 34 years old, you are never too old or too young to deal with the death of your parents," he said.
"I am still trying to recover from it, but listen, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, eh?
"I'm the last one of my family. I've got to a stage where I think it is time to create a family. I lost all my family, so I need to create a new one."
Meanwhile, Cheryl and Liam are said to be working on solo projects in the studio, with both stars thought to be releasing their music next year.
