Earlier this week, Jessica Wright shared a beautiful and seemingly carefree snapshot of her and co-star Danielle Armstrong on a Miami beach.

However there was a lot more to the image than met the eye, as the emotional and touching caption made clear.

It read: “Grief is something I've never really experienced which I'm grateful for, but the last few weeks has been the most testing time of my entire life.

“There is nothing anyone can say or do to take the pain away.”

Brave Jess continued: “However, my Nan was the one person in my life who was happy no matter what the situation was, what day it was, and however she really felt deep down.

“I booked this trip over a month ago and never in a million years expected what was going to happen.

“I tore between decision over whether to go but I know my Nan would have wanted me to smile and celebrate her existence rather than stay home & mourn every day.

“Moments are hard and moments are so bad that I feel like I'll never be able to smile again.

“But then, when I think of her happiness and love of life, I find strength again to laugh.”

Jessica finished powerfully: “The bond between a grandchild and their grandparent is unexplainable and something so special, but I feel most for my mum and her siblings because their pain is something I can't relate to.

“I’m so proud of my mum for being so strong at this hard time, and I’m so sorry for anyone who has lost someone they care and love so much.

“But please try and celebrate their lives how they would want you to. Family is everything.”

Mark Wright also took to Instagram to pay tribute to his beloved nan, sharing an image of her whispering into the ear of his wife, Michelle Keegan, on their wedding day.

The former TOWIE star wrote: “Life is all about ups and downs.

“This year one special women vowed to be in my life forever and one special women left my life forever.”

He finished with a word of advice for his followers, writing: “Be prepared for the best and worst moments.

“Just make sure in 2016 you take the best out of every moment and never take anyone or anything for granted.”

Patricia Brooker, better known to fans as Nanny Pat, passed away last month following a short illness.

She was 80 years old.

Our thoughts remain with her family and friends at this emotional time.
