Katie Hopkins slams the overweight: ‘If you can afford to eat yourself obese, you can pay for a gastric bypass’

Katie Hopkins has enraged her Twitter followers again, by insisting that obese people should be forced to pay for their own gastric bands.

The 38-year-old hit out at overweight people and accused them of 'bankrupting our NHS'.

She wrote: "If you can afford to eat yourself obese, you can afford to pay for your own gastric bypass. Quit bankrupting our NHS [sic].

"I have heard of #fat acceptance. I declined the invitation.

"Stop charging students. Time for gastric loans. You want to live, you pay for it. Repayment according to how much you used to spend on food."

Users quickly blasted her opinions, with one writing: "It's usually much cheaper to eat junk then healthy so obviously not [sic]."

"Your idiocy and ignorance baffles me…" another added, while someone else said 'It's more than that as you well know, if only kiddies had sports at school with parents [sic]."

But reactions seemed pretty divided, with many agreeing with the social commentator.

One said: "Abso… frigging… lutely!! Bone idle and pig ignorance should not qualify as a condition for medical treatment on UK taxpayers! [sic]"

Another said: "I'm hoping that you say the same thing about boob jobs! They are a great burden on NHS [sic]."
