Katie took out a privacy claim against the pair, claiming they had misused confidential information, back in 2012. Katie – who’s a mum of six – claims details about her private life were leaked to the press and wants to claim damages.

Both Pete and Claire Powell denied the allegations and claimed that Katie has no reasonable expectation of privacy because of how much she puts herself, and her lifestyle, into the public eye.

Today, an official from the High Court in London explained that the £200,000 would be the right amount of money to give Katie a “substantial interest” in complying with certain aspects of the case in the future.

Master McCloud, who’s overseeing the case, also ordered Katie, 36, to pay £85,000 towards costs that have already been incurred.

Another privacy action, which Katie took against her former friend Jamelah Asmar has been settled on confidential terms.

The trial – which could last around 10 days – will not take place until the end of the year.
