Kylie Minoque, 48, has revealed that her battle with breast cancer is the reason that she didn't have children.

Talking to The Sunday Times, Kylie - who is engaged to 29-year-old British actor Joshua Sasse - explained: "When cancer strikes, you have to consider all that. Trust me, there’s a point when the next person says, ‘Well there are many options’, you want to scream.

"Of course it’s great that there are options. It’s marvellous there are options. But when you’re dealing with all the other stuff and things you took for granted are taken away from you, it’s like, yes, there are options but...

"I guess you have those visions of what would my child look like, be it a boy or girl? What would I see of myself in them? That’s saddening but I’ve thought about it for a long time and I’ve had to face that for a long time."

When asked whether starting a family with her fiancé Josh is on her agenda, Kylie admitted she'd never say never, revealing: "Who knows if a family is on my horizons? If that were to happen that would be incredible."

And does it bother Kylie that her handsome man is 20 years her junior? Not in the slightest.

"He’s an old soul," she explained. "Across the board, all of my friends have said it. I totally forget about it. He’s more old fashioned than me. I feel like the young one in the relationship... We’re deliriously happy."

Speaking of setting a date for their nupitals, Kylie and Josh have made a pact not to get married until gay people have equal marriage rights in Australia.

Back in October, Josh told Network Seven: "When I found out that gay marriage was illegal in Australia, I was astounded,"

"I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral or religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person that I love and that somebody else doesn’t because of their sexual orientation."
