Lauren Goodger has been open about her weight loss struggles over the last few years.
Since arriving on The Only Way Is Essex in 2010, Lauren became known for her yo-yo dieting and fluctuated between a size 8 and a size 18.
After a series of intense and emotional sessions on Channel 5’s In Therapy, Lauren realised that her behaviour – going from a really strict diet and exercise plan, to eating whatever she wanted and not working out at all – was the result of growing up in two very different households, where her dad was very strict and her mum was really relaxed.
After slimming down and dropping five dress sizes in 2015, Lauren has committed to a healthy lifestyle, often sharing snaps of her gym sessions on Instagram.
But the TV personality has revealed that her boyfriend, Joey Morrison, constantly questions her on her weight in order to keep her on track.
Joey is currently serving a 17-year prison sentence for drug-related crimes, but Lauren has admitted they talk every day.
Despite being in prison, Lauren believes that Joey’s interest in her body is encouraging her to lose weight.
Talking to new! magazine, Lauren said: “If he was with me now, he’d have locked me in a room with a treadmill and would feed me water and bloody veg!
“He’d get me in the best shape of my life.
“I need someone like him … [having] him say, ‘So what do you weight today?’ helps me.”
Lauren was also forced to defend her friend, Jodie Wheeler, when she was quoted as saying that Joey was ‘controlling’ her.
She took to social media to tell fans: “My friend @jodiewheeler has been quoted by newspapers as saying that she thinks Joey is very controlling … he wants me to conduct myself with regards to the things I talk about and telling me to stick to the gym/diet etc. Which I actually find encouraging.”
However, insiders told Closer magazine that Lauren received an email claiming Joey had previously been in relationships with other TV stars like Danielle Lloyd, Bianca Gascoigne and Lauren Pope.
A source told Closer: “Lauren thinks the woman who sent the email is jealous because she knows Joey is head over heels in love with her.
“She says she doesn’t care about the claims and knows everything about Joey.”
