The mother-of-two was staying in a caravan at Glastonbury this weekend when her gas stove exploded.

Lily Allen, 30, said she was “grateful to be alive” after the fire in Somerset, which left her with minor burns and “singed eyelashes”.

Sharing a close-up photograph of her injuries to Instagram, Lily wrote: “I was in a gas explosion in my caravan today and I have minor burns and singed my eyelashes considerably.

"It was absolutely terrifying and I wouldn't want anyone to go through anything similar.

"Please be SO careful using gas stoves at anytime but especially during festival season when ones reaction times may be a little off.

"Feeling very grateful to be alive. Happy camping."

She did not share any details as to how the explosion occurred.

She was immediately flooded with messages of support from sympathetic fans, all of whom expressed their relief that the Smile singer had not been left badly injured.

One wrote: "Oh god! Hope you feel better soon and glad you weren't significantly hurt!"

Another added: "Hope you recover quickly".
