Sitting down with the Loose Women panel, Coleen Nolan happily explained that she will become a grandmother in January 2016.
Revealing the baby bombshell to the show and fellow Loose Women, Ruth Langsford, Saira Khan and Jane Moore, Coleen said: “I’m not pregnant… but I am in January going to be a granny!”
Coleen - who has just returned from a summer break in Orlando - added: “It’s my eldest son Shane and Emma.
“They’re not actually together, sadly, but they’re really good friends and they’re both going to be great parents.
“We’re all so excited and she has asked me to be with her at the birth. I’m so excited! I spent most of the time in America buying this child clothes and my husband said ‘it’s not even here yet!’
“I went, ‘Wait until it is!’”
Coleen, who insisted she’ll be a ‘nanny’ rather than a ‘granny’, continued: “It’s going to be a little girl and she’s going to be called Amelia Rose.”
In a discussion on the show about grandparents saving parents across the country 56 billion pounds a year in childcare costs, Coleen said she thinks she’ll be a hands on grandparent: “I’d like to be and I hope I will, I just hope I’m not one of these overly obsessive grannies but I am kind of hoping at some point that Shane’s work and Emma’s work will clash so I have to have Amelia!”
It seems like it’s going to be a busy time for Coleen, who is also helping younger son Jake Roche with his wedding plans to Little Mix star Jesy Nelson.
Dropping that the young couple are planning ‘a white wedding with all the trimmings’, Coleen told OK! magazine: "They definitely want the whole hog."
She added: "Although they're young I don't think they'll hang about."
Hmm. If the lovebirds wait just long enough, they could have Jake’s little niece there as a flower girl.
