Former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh has broken her silence following the news she’d split with her boyfriend Louis Smith. Lucy met the Olympian while filming Tumble back in August 2014 and the pair quickly fell in love. But it all turned sour and now Lucy has opened up for the first time.
Posting a note on Instagram that read: “Everything happens for a reason”, Lucy was inundated by messages of support from her fans.
Interestingly, Louis hinted that the split could be down to him as he spoke to a fan that commented on one of his social media posts.
“You don't deserve @lucymeck anyway she's beautiful and you both ovs wanted different things in life,” the fan wrote, prompting Louis to respond with: “Can't agree with you more on everything you've said lol.”
The couple’s hectic schedules appear to be part of the problem, with Louis in training for the Rio Olympics and rumours that Lucy wants to settle down and start a family.
It’s thought the couple decided to end their relationship after a holiday to Thailand last December.
