Maria Fowler is, like any mum-to-be, enjoying every single moment of her pregnancy.

And, this week, the former TOWIE star was particularly excited as she finally got to find out whether she was expecting a baby boy or a baby girl.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “OMG we just had our gender scan as the date got changed!!!!

“So excited now we know what baby is…”

However she chose to keep that particularly juicy detail to herself, refusing to let slip whether she’s expecting a pink one or a blue one.

She simply finished with an ecstatic: “I am SO SO HAPPY!”

Maria also retweeted Kelvin’s excited post to the social media site, which read: “Just found out the Gender of our baby.

“Now we can start planning names, nursery and outfits!

“So much love for our baby already.”

N’aww, how cute are these first time parents?

It’s unsurprising that, the next morning, Maria was just as excited as ever before.

Waking up as the proud mum-to-be of a baby boy or girl, she explained: “Waking up and it seems surreal knowing our baby's gender.

“Referring to our baby as him/her rather than 'it'.

“I’m so proud already.”

Maria recently received something of a backlash on Twitter after playing an April Fool’s Day prank on her social media followers.

She wrote teasingly: “Me and @KelvinBatey555 would like to announce that it's not actually twins and we are preparing for a gang of 3!! #triplets”

However a number of women responded angrily, accusing the reality star of being insensitive to those who could not conceive.

Maria was quick to defend herself, writing: “I think if people get offended about pregnancy tweets because they can't conceive.

“Maybe just unfollow me, I can't help your situation, I wish I could.

“We thought we wouldn't be able to and it's a horrible feeling. But please stop blaming me.

“I don't mean to offend you.”

A number of magazines, however, took these comments as meaning that maria truly WAS pregnant with triplets.

This in turn led to more than a few false reports across the UK about Maria’s incoming ‘gang of three’.

However, as we all knew deep in our hearts (you’ll note that Closer didn’t fall for the prank!), Maria was only teasing.

She later said: “OMG magazines, lol I'm not really expecting triplets it was an April Fools.

“I didn't think people would believe it - sorry!”

The little minx.

We can’t wait to meet Maria’s little boy or girl - congratulations once again to her and Kelvin!
