Maria Fowler and partner Kelvin Batey are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child together, and have been sharing their experiences with fans on social media.

But recently the former TOWIE star was spotted shopping with Kelvin using a pair of crutches to aid her as she walked.

Maria has previously spoken about suffering from Symphysis Pubis Dysfuntion (SPD) and today took to Twitter to say the doctors have diagnosed her with the condition.

She wrote: “Physio was as expected. Been diagnosed with SPD/PGP, very painful. Got to rest up now otherwise labour is going to be even worse!”

SPD or Pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain (PPGP) is, according to the NHS website, “a collection of uncomfortable symptoms caused by a stiffness of your pelvic joints or the joints moving unevenly at either the back or front of your pelvis.”

SPD is not harmful to the baby, but can cause severe pain around the pelvic area making it difficult to get up and about.

Earlier in the week Maria tweeted to say how she could “barely walk” due to the pain she was suffering.

“Can barely walk now due to SPD and severe pain, I know it will all be worth it but this is so hard,” the 30-year-old wrote.

September is the official due date month for their little one to arrive, and Maria has been waiting in anticipation for her daughter’s arrival, no doubt hoping that her current pain will lessen once the baby arrives, too!

We hope she feels more comfortable in the build-up to her bubba’s arrival – we can’t wait to see what she will look like!
