Following the operating to remove her uterus and ovaries, Michelle was candid about how her hormones were wreaking havoc on her emotions, saying: ‘There are good days and bad days.’

And now the 35-year-old star has said she is feeling self conscious about her post-surgery body too, admitting she’s not sure she’ll ever wear a bikini again.

‘The hysterectomy scar is the worst as that is the one I always see,’ she told a UK magazine.

‘I don’t know if I will ever wear a bikini again. Not in public, anyway.’

The former Liberty X star underwent a double mastectomy in 2012 when she discovered she was carrying the BRAC2 gene, which gave her an 80 per cent chance of developing breast cancer.

‘I don’t know if I will ever wear a bikini again. Not in public, anyway.’

But the same gene also gave her a high probability of developing ovarian cancer, and so to reduce her risk, Michelle had a hysterectomy after giving birth to her second child.

Heaton has remained brave faced throughout her ordeal, saying the pain would be worth it in order not to leave her children motherless.

‘What I’ve done is for my husband and my children so that they’re never wifeless and motherless.’

And despite the physical pain she’s put her body through, Michelle adds the hardest thing to accept is the fact she can never have any more children if she wanted.
