It has been eight years since Michelle Keegan came onto our screens as the outspoken Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street.

We were witness to Tina’s tumultuous relationship with David Platt, her surrogacy for Gary and Izzy, and her affair with Peter Barlow, before she tragically died from injuries sustained after being pushed off of a balcony.

In 2014, after six years on the show, Michelle waved goodbye to the cobbles.

Since then, she has gone on to star in the brilliant BBC1 army series, My Girl, and was chosen to play Tina Moore in the ITV drama series Bobby and Tina, which tells the story of the late footballer Bobby Moore’s life.

However, the decision to leave Corrie in pursuit of acting roles elsewhere wasn’t one that Michelle took lightly and she has now spoken about the fears and worries she had when she quit the popular soap.

Talking about her decision to move on, she told The Daily Express: “There was no going back, because Tina died - but I didn't want to look back in 10 years' time and think: 'What if?'”

The 29 year old, who is married to former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, auditioned for the role of Coronation Street’s loveable Tina in 2008 where she beat almost 1,000 others who had auditioned for the role.

Despite her fears about life after Corrie, Tina has enjoyed huge success and has been praised for her superb acting talent.

So what is next for the starlet, who is already enjoying a glittering career in the UK?

“I went [to Hollywood] last year with Mark and we had a great time, so if anything did come up there that would be great,” Michelle admitted.

We think she would make a fabulous Hollywood actress, don’t you?
