A mother has spoken out of her heartbreak after finding her baby daughter dead in her pram after a walk on the hottest day of the year.

Shannon Tideswell, 20, took eight-month-old Maisie-Leigh Lamb out for a stroll around their local park when tragedy struck.

Shannon found Maisie-Leigh's lips had gone blue and she couldn't be saved.

Maisie-Leigh had Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

Spina bifida is where the spike doesn't develop properly. Shannon told The Nottingham Post, 'She was a smiley and happy baby. She had gone through so much in her short life but it didn't affect her. She was still always smiling.'

'She was limited in what she could do – she couldn't move her legs and she had more strength in her right arm than her left but she was just Maisie. We loved her and we miss her so much.'

The family are now planning to release balloons in Maisie-Leigh's memory in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, on April 23.

A fundraising page has been set up to raise money for the Queen’s Medical Centre’s E40 ward, where Maisie-Leigh spent four weeks after her birth.
