In a lavish ceremony in St. Paul’ church in Knightsbridge, London, Frank and Christine finally tied the knot in front of family and famous friends, after they first began dating in 2009.
And not long afterwards, celebrity guest Piers Morgan spoke on Good Morning Britain about the emotional event, and explained that Frank’s two daughters each gave a touching tribute to the couple on the big day - one in the church and the other at the reception.
Luna, 10 and Isla, eight are children the footballer shares with his former fiancée, Elen Rivas.
But Frank has recently revealed that the relationship between his wife and his kids hasn’t always been so sweet, saying they found it difficult as first.
Speaking to the Mirror, Frank explained:
“It’s been a long game and you develop it slowly and fair play to all of them.
“I’m the bystander in that situation – but the girls love Christine and vice versa.”
Although the close bond they have may have taken time, Frank has also previously told Red magazine in 2014 that they get along well, and even gang up on him sometimes!
“For me, that’s great, because going into a relationship, the step-parent role is hard. To get to the point where I see the girls saying, “We’ve got Chris, and we’re doing this,” is brilliant.’
He also admitted: “I had a year of being a single dad and it was tough.”
After the ceremony, Piers also revealed that before the loved-up pair first spoke, he told his pal that Christine was out of his league and that he shouldn’t even bother.
“Christine came into the bar and Frank said, ‘Who's that? She looks a bit of a sort’, which I think is East End for ‘She's attractive."
"I said, ‘She's way above your league mate’.
“Anyway, next thing, they get together.”
Well, good thing Frank never listened to Piers, ey?
