Phillip Schofield has thanked the “angels” at the hospital who worked to save his brother’s life.

This Morning host Phillip made an emotional return to Bristol Royal Infirmary to visit the hard working staff who cared for his sibling Tim when he fell ill in November last year.

The television presenter took time off from his broadcasting work when Tim was under the care of the hospital.

Phillip shared a picture of himself and Tim posing with the staff in Bristol on Instagram yesterday, along with the caption: “Family ‘thank you’ visit today to the incredible team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary who fixed my lovely bro…our angels.”

He then shared another picture of himself alongside his brother, writing: “When I walked through this ICU door in Nov 2015 our world was in bits and Tim was in big trouble inside…

“Today BOTH brothers stood outside with such admiration and thanks to the incredible team. #BristolRoyalInfirmary.”

Tim suffers from Type 1 diabetes but it is not known exactly why he was hospitalised in November, or if it was related.

Tim has previously spoken out during an appearance on This Morning to thank the ambulance team who came to his aid last year.

He said: “They were absolutely amazing, the team from the ambulance service were with me right the way through, from the hospital, to where I am now in the rehab.

“They are absolutely fantastic, I cannot fault them one bit. The support I have had has been unbelievable. Even the paramedics came back to visit me when I was in hospital, just to see how I was getting on. They have been absolutely phenomenal.”
