Dad-of-two Robbie, 41, used an excuse to get out of the event for two-year-old Theodora Rose, and even claimed he would need drugs to get him through.

Speaking to the Mirror, the former Take That singer said: “I don’t like that many people. It’s rare that I go into the room and go, ‘Yeah, I like that person and that person,’ out of 5,000 people, let alone being thrown into a room full of parents.

“That scares me. There was a parent evening for the nursery Teddy goes to and it filled me with fear.”

Robbie, who also has 10-month-old son Charlton with wife Ayda Field, confessed that he pretended to be recording new music to get out of going.

He continued: “It was either take a Valium and go or pretend I’ve got to be in the studio… and that always gets me out of everything.

“So I pretended I was in the studio. What are we going to talk about? Teddy isn’t even three. I don’t know what we’re supposed to talk about.”

He might not know what to talk about with Teddy’s teachers, but Robbie couldn’t be prouder of his little girl.

“I’m bowled over. I’m able to have chats now with my little girl. She sings and she dances and she melts my heart. I’m in love.”
