In an interview with Mail Online the pop star said: “People do say when you’re late 30s, 40s that is it more difficult and you could have complications. That was always in the back of my head when we decided to try for a baby.”

The 39 year old also revealed that she and her boyfriend Paul Cashmore would have considered IVF treatment if they weren’t able to conceive naturally.

The couple have decided to keep the sex of the baby – who is due in June - a surprise until the birth.

Pop princess Tina, met her partner in 2012 on the set of Russel Grant’s charity music video for The Clapping Song.

She said: “‘I thought, OK, this one is different. It was a no brainer, really. Sometimes you think, is this going to go anywhere? There was no doubts – this is it.”

Former band mates Rachel Stevens and Jo O’Meara are also excited about the new arrival.

Tina told the Mail Online the girls have been giving advice about a birthing plan, but she is still unsure which is best for her: “People keep telling me water births are the best way to go, but it seems a bit scary.”

But Tina said her and partner Paul are considering getting wed in Las Vegas after the birth.

We’ll wait for the invite in the post, Tina.
