Sheridan Smith has returned to performing for the first time since the death of her father.

The actress and singer serenaded attendees of the opening of Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden, an Italian bar, club and pizzeria.

In what could be seen as a teasing move, she sang People and Don't Rain On My Parade from Funny Girl - the sold out West End show she was performing in until she stepped down last March.

Could this be a hint that she'll be returning to the show? We hope so!

Sheridan stopped appearing in the show after learning of her beloved father's cancer diagnosis. He sadly passed away in December at the age of 80.

In a fitting tribute, Sheridan had recently gotten a tattoo on her arm for her late father, which was on show.

Heart-breakingly, Sheridan's family has been struck by cancer before, after her brother died of the disease at the age of 18 when Sheridan was only eight.

She also starred in a BBC adaptation of Lisa Lynch's novel The C Word, which was itself based on the blog that she started after her own cancer diagnosis. Sheridan was widely praised for her performance as Lisa in the programme.

We hope we start to see more of Sheridan again!
