Simon Cowell may have earned his stripes as Mr Nasty on The X Factor, but there’s no denying that the media mogul is a big old softy when it comes to his mini-me, Eric.

He’s shared countless selfies of himself and the tiny tot to his Twitter feed, melting the hearts of fans everywhere.

But, while it’s clear that Simon is an EXTREMELY doting dad, he has admitted that he prefers to leave certain parenting duties to his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.

In particular, Eric’s dirty nappies.

Speaking with HELLO! magazine, the 55-year-old confessed: "I still haven't changed a nappy but I love being a dad.

“He [Eric] and I communicate very well because we like all the same things - Scooby Doo, Disney movies, laughing at the dogs.”

And it seems as if Simon is getting ready to dump a whole load of brand-new dirty nappies on Lauren, as he’s revealed that he’s already made plans for baby number two.

He said: “I think if you have one child it would be lovely to have two and yes, I would like to have a little girl…"

Luckily, Lauren seems fine with that - so much so that she’s picked out a name for Eric’s potential little sister.

Although she DOES fear that Simon might be too strict on his future daughter.

She said simply: "The only problem is that I will feel sorry for her when she is older because she won't be able to leave the house and no man would dare come near her because Simon would be so protective."

Now THAT we don’t doubt - although we’d love it if he set up a big red cross over the door, wired up to a buzzer, so he could vote on whether her boyfriends were suitable or not!
