Simon Cowell is apparently planning the Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion, and we’re VERY excited.

The X Factor judge has always said not signing the girl band is the “biggest mistake” of his life, and he’s clearly eager to be the one to organise the comeback.

Simon invited Mel B to be a guest judge on The X Factor last week, and made the singer an offer regarding getting the Spice Girls back together.

A source told The Sun: “Simon is desperate to make a new Spice Girls album. He doesn’t want to miss out after the first time around.”

According to the source, 56 year old Simon quizzed Mel about the band and reportedly said he would do “something mega” if they were to sign with him.

“He kept asking if they were going to be producing new music and said if so, he wants to do it with them,” the source added.

“He even went as far as warning Mel that they’d better not talk to any other labels before meeting with him.”

Mel apparently held back any information as to what the girls are planning (if anything), but did apparently say they “hadn’t finalized everything”.

So does this mean that there is definitely something in the works?

Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell were recently spotted together in a recording studio in London in May, and Mel B posted this cute snap of the three together on Instagram.

And Mel C also hinted earlier this month that a reunion could be on the cards.

She told The Sun Online that the Spice Girls is “a wonderful part of my past – but it’s still very much [her] present”.

We sure hope that we see a Spice Girls reunion, whether Simon’s in charge or not!
