Entertainment guru Simon Cowell has said he would like to be Cheryl and Liam Payne's baby's godfather
Cheryl gave birth last month after one of the most mysterious and anticipated pregnancies EVER.
Since then, her and boyfriend Liam Payne have both kept a fairly low profile - apart from yesterday, when Chez gave us an ADORABLE update on as-yet-unnamed baby Chiam.
And whilst we're literally desperate to know all about him - like what his name is, who are going to be his godparents, we're respecting the privacy of the new parents.
HOWEVER.
That doesn't mean that we can't absolutely jump on it when someone else offers their two pence on the matter.
After Harry Styles revealed that he would be "honoured" to be godfather to the new bundle of joy, we were all left wondering whether that would actually come to fruition.
But another person has now thrown their name into the ring.
None other than music mogul Simon Cowell has put his hand up to be godfather to the little'un.
SIMON BLIMMIN' COWELL.
Back in the day, he'd NEVER have been bothered by babies and the like.
Looks like little Eric has softened the cold Cowell heart.
Speaking to The Mirror, Simon said that although he hadn't yet met the baby, he'd be well up for the job: "I haven't had the call yet but I would be a godfather if asked."
He added that Chez is apparently loving life as a new mum: "Cheryl seems in a good place. Having gone through it myself it is quite nerve wracking, but this is going to be the making of her. From people I know who have been with her, apparently she's ecstatic so I'm happy for her."
Oh Simon, ya cutie.
