Victoria Beckham has really carved out a fashion niche with her well-received namesake label, but she's also a doting mum-of-four (recently revealing how she completely sacrifices her social life for the sake of her family), so it makes sense that she'd turn her hand to children's clothing.
Inspired by five-year-old daughter Harper, the fashionista is collaborating with American super-cheap brand Target, which is good news for them... but bad news for us UK dwellers desperate to get our hands on the pieces.
"[It’s] something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to be able to incorporate childrenswear into this collection," she revealed.
"When working on it, I really felt I could tell a story and have fun with it—and I think the clothes reflect just how much fun I had designing them!"
While Harper was one inspiration, Victoria also found motherhood in general helped when looking at the sort of clothes kids need.
"Being a mother has helped me understand what’s important when it comes to the category," she explained.
"I have had years of learning that function is often just as important as form, and that children need to be able to feel comfortable and free in what they wear. For me it was really all about finding a balance between the fun elements and the real-life functionality of a garment."
We guess if you're going to buy clothes for your children, you sort of want them designed by someone who knows what children are like!
Two things that we're especially excited about, though: a) the line features over 200 items, and not all of them are for kids (parents can get in on the action too!) and b) while Target only has branches in America, the clothes will be available to global shoppers via her website, VictoriaBeckham.com - so they're available in the UK!
So excited to see what the line looks like.
