The Wanted announce plans to ‘take a break’ after their current tour to ‘pursue personal endeavours’

In a statement on their website, The Wanted have confirmed that they will be taking a break following their tour.

The band are currently on their Word of Mouth tour and, although they plan to pursue ‘personal endeavours’, they will be continuing as The Wanted.

The statement reads: “This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour’s conclusion.

“The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future.

“They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”

The news comes just a month after JLS officially parted ways and boyband fans took to Twitter to voice their disappointment.

According to the statement, Max and the boys will continue to work as The Wanted despite wanting to pursue personal projects

One fan tweeted: “JLS and The Wanted have both split up in the space of a year :( #crying”

Another wrote: “I am absolutely gutted that The Wanted have split up, I absolutely love them.”

The announcement also comes weeks after speculation that they boys were going to be dropped from their record label following poor sales of their latest album.

A source close to the band revealed at the time: “Despite high hopes that The Wanted would rival One Direction as worldwide stars, it just hasn’t happened.

“The album was a disaster from start to finish. It had no direction and way delayed for over a year due to problems – no final decision has been made but all promo for the album has been scrapped and no more singles planned.”
