Life is, without a doubt, stressful.

We all have goals we are aiming for, but we all have obligations, and commitments, and responsibilities we need to fulfil.

So how do we balance everything we’re trying to juggle?

Well, according to Ollie Neveu, life coach and organisation expert at TaskRabbit, the secret to success is to get organised!

Follow Ollie’s simple but life-changing tips on how to manage your time, find balance and banish stress, so you can be your most productive self in 2016.

Organisation and productivity go hand-in-hand. Make an aspirational (yet realistic) list of what you want to achieve this year – everything from pursuing a new career goal to simply making time to visit the restaurant you’ve wanted to try for months. Then, write down what you need to do to achieve those goals and when each step should be completed. Making a physical list with set deadlines will help you stick to your schedule and avoid procrastination.

Life can get overwhelming – stacked with responsibilities, meetings and chores. But thanks to the vast array of apps available on our mobile phones, there are loads of convenient tools to help you through your to-do list.

Services like TaskRabbit provide an extra set of hands to help with daily chores at a moment’s notice. With just a few swipes in the app, you can hire a Tasker to clear out your wardrobe, pick up the weekly shop or help with a spring clean.

You’ll get bags of time back in your diary to do your favourite things. Attend that Pilates class you've been mulling over for weeks, catch up with your mates, or treat yourself to some personal TLC in the form of a massage or pedicure – the perfect cure for January Blues.

It’s important to reward yourself. Make sure that you’ve got your social calendar fully stocked a few weeks in advance – there’s no better incentive to get you out of the office on time than some quality time with friends and family.

Even better, book in mini-holidays to help clear your head, such as spa days or a trip to the seaside. Think of new ways to create memorable moments in your everyday life.

Set a daily time for leaving work and stick to it. It might seem obvious, but as many as four million employees in the UK are working at least 48 hours a week, well over the recommended 37 hours. Not only are you less efficient late into the evening, staying at the office for the sake of it is unhealthy and detrimental to team morale!

While you shouldn’t let the daily grind prevent you from pursuing hobbies and personal goals outside of work, sometimes your daily tasks become unavoidable.

Whether from family, friends, neighbours or experts, don’t be afraid to ask for support so you can focus on making more time for the things you love.
