The charity Missing People have set up a choir and competed on Britain's Got Talent - and their performance moved the judges to tears.

The Missing People's Choir performed in secret at auditions for the ITV show at the weekend, and is made up of people whose loved ones are still missing.

Kate McCann, mother of missing Madeleine, is an ambassador for the charity which was set up in 1993 after the high profile case of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh who went missing in 1989.

The choir is made up of many relatives of high profile missing people, including Peter Lawrence, the father of Claudia Lawrence who disappeared in 2009 in York, and Rachel Elias who is the sister of Richey Edwards, the Manic Street Preachers guitarist who disappeared exactly 22 years ago today.

There's also Ros Hodgkiss and Nina Gross - the mother and sister of Alice Gross, who was murdered in 2014, and Denise Horvath Allan, the mother of missing Charles Horvath Allan who went missing in 1989 when hiking through Canada.

At their audition, the choir sang a rendition of I Miss You which was written by Peter Boxell. Peter's son Lee went missing in 1988 at the age of 15.

Some of the lyrics are: "I never thought I'd be without you. I always thought you'd be here safe with me. Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up to find you.

"I'm so empty and silent without you. In my dreams, I see your face, walk with you, hold you safe. Close my eyes, I think of you, until the day I see you again."

Absolutely heart-breaking.

Mrs McCann launched a charity with Ros Hodgkiss, the mother of Alice Gross, called Find Every Child. She gave a speech in November at their launch event and said: "We go to bed every night with the agonising feeling that just maybe tomorrow we will find something to lead us back to Madeleine. To let us know what happened. To give us hope."

Kate, whose daughter Maddie will have been missing for ten years in May, said: "When my little girl first disappeared, on that horrendous night that changed our lives forever, I could never have imagined that nearly 10 years later we would still be in the same position.

"That I would be stood here in front of you tonight talking about the issue and how important it is that we look for each and every missing child."

We hope the choir's appearance on Britain's Got Talent will raise the profile of this charity.
