Comedian Vic Reeves has been announced as the newest cast member of Coronation Street
Coronation Street have announced the newest member of the cast - and we're that his face is familiar to everyone!
Vic Reeves, one of the best-known comedians in the UK, will be joining the show for an initial three-month stint on the show as Colin, a television presenter.
Vic, whose real name is Jim Moir, will begin filming in July and his scenes will be shown towards the end of summer.
According to show bosses, Colin comes to Weatherfield to film Norris and Mary after their chosen to appear on his show. They said: "It's not long before Colin finds himself embroiled in the lives of other street residents."
Ooh er!
Vic is over the moon to be appearing in the show, and said: "I've been a lifelong fan of Corrie. In fact, I think I saw the very first one. I try not to miss any episodes.
"I'm really looking forward to acting in Corrie. It's a real thrill to be part of a British Institution."
Vic, who is best known as one half of a double act with Bob Mortimer, has been performing since 1989.
They will be reuniting for a one-off special of the stage show that sparked their 30-year career - Big Night Out.
Although the air date has not yet been confirmed, it will be showing on BBC Two.
