Former Coronation Street actor Adam Rickett has joined the cast of rival soap Hollyoaks.
If you were a teenage girl who watched Coronation Street between 1997 and 2004, then you probably had a crush the size of Jupiter on a certain Adam Rickett, who played the role of Nick Tilsley. He was certainly the full package back then, all floppy blonde hair and a winning smile which won him several 'Sexiest Male' accolades in soap and teen mags. Anyway, fans of the former Nick Tilsely will be thrilled to learn that Ads is heading back to SoapLand as he is set to appear in Hollyoaks. So, that's pretty exciting.

Adam will play a character called Kyle, who is an ex of 'Oaks regular Nancy Osborne. Kyle also suffers from Mulitple Sclerosis, which Nancy has, and it's thought his arrival in the village will cause problems between Nancy and her husband, Darren.
Adam said: "I am really happy to be joining Hollyoaks. I’ve had a lot of friends work on the show throughout the years and they’ve all told me what an amazing place it is to work so it’s really good to be a part of such a welcoming crowd.

"The key interest for me was in the storylines lined up for Kyle. I think they are amazing, taking the character on a real journey and something I am really enjoying playing a part in. Fingers crossed the audience like the surprises as they keep coming…"
As well as playing Nick in Coronation Street before Ben Price took over the role, Adam starred in New Zealand soap Shortland Street. He also made a brief assault on the charts - who can forget THAT video for I Breathe Again where Adam was mostly naked in a glass box. Kind of Naked Attraction meets Sex Box - with music.
